Installation guide for Twin Wall Flue Pipe

In situations were you want to install a conventional flue stove, but do not have an existing chimney, we recommend that you use our twin wall flue pipe. It is a rigid, stainless steel system consisting of a 316 grade inner, a 25mm high density mineral wool insulated core for excellent thermal resistance and a 304 grade outer. It is suitable for use with all fuels and can be used both internally and externally, needing only 50mm clearance to any combustible materials. Our twin wall flue pipe is BSRIA approved to BS4545, parts 2 & 3 and is also listed by HETAS as an approved product for solid fuel burning.
50mm minimum clearance must be maintained from combustible materials.

The chimney diameter should never be reduced to less than the diameter specified by the appliance manufacturer, in some cases this may involve an increase in diameter from the appliance spigot.

Ensure that adequate air is available for combustion. Refer to Building Regulations Document J.

Ensure chimney termination has adequate clearance from the roof of the building. Do not allow products of combustion to be discharged where they can enter an opening window or ventilation inlet.

It is good practice to install a minimum vertical rise of 600mm on to an appliance before fitting a bend.

The chimney should be adequately supported. We recommend no more than 6 metres of vertical rise between load bearing support brackets. Lateral support brackets should installed at 2 metre intervals.

Joints should not be made in walls or floors.
